Arizona Cardinals Opponent Preview: Detroit Lions
By Omar Soussi
It feels like every week the Arizona Cardinals play an NFC playoff contender. This week they play the Detroit Lions in a game which could decide home field advantage first round byes or even a wild card spot. This Detroit team has been playing great football this season and this will be a great football game. Lets take a look at this team.
Great Defense
The Detroit Lios defense has been outstanding ranked first in total defense, 2nd against the rush and 3rd against the pass. They play like attack dogs, going right after the football and they tackle great. Their front seven is one of the best in the league. It’s going to be tough for the Arizona Cardinals to do anything offensively.
The Skill Players
The Lions are surrounded by so much talent on the offensive side. Golden Tate, Reggie Bush, Eric Ebron and that one guy Calvin Johnson. The Detroit Lions may not be blow out teams but like the Arizona Cardinals, this team wins games with efficient play. Another reason they haven’t been destroying teams is the absence of both Calvin Johnson and Reggie Bush. Both players are finally healthy and ready to get back in the game. The Arizona Cardinals are going to face one tough battle on defense.
Matthew Stafford And His Ability To Win
I have no idea what to think of Stafford, 13 touchdowns but eight interceptions. Over 2000 yards but sacked 27 times already (4 more than last in total), yet somehow this team is 7-2, winning games last year they would have lost. His play has truly help this team become a playoff contender and it could be his play that could cost them the game.
I don’t know who will win this game, I’ll figure it out by Saturday, all I know is this is going to be one good game.
