Five Questions For Detroit Jock City About The Detroit Lions

The Arizona Cardinals are hosting the Detroit Lions in a battle for the top seed in the NFC.  The winner will be in complete control of their playoff destiny which could include a 1st round bye and home field advantage. The loser may find themselves on the road in the postseason.

Being part of the Fansided Network means we have access to the editor of a oppoisng teams website to ask key questions about the Arizona Cardinals opponent.  This week we reached out to Nate Williams, Co-Editor of Detroit Jock City, and forced him to give us some inside information about this week enemy, The Detroit Lions.

HW: The Detroit Lions offensive line has been banged up lately.  Do you expect them to have trouble against the blitz happy Arizona Cardinals offense?

"Williams: I think the Lions will absolutely have their hands full come Sunday. Rookie Travis Swanson will get his first start in place of Larry Warford, he better bring his A game."

HW: Everyone knows the Detroit Lions’ defensive front has been dominant this season. Who would you say is the most valuable player on the defensive aside from Ndamukong Suh?

"Williams: I have to go with Glover Quin. Quin has developed chemistry with James Ihedigbo and is a true field general on the back of the D."

HW: Calvin Johnson made his return last week. What is the status of Megatron and Reggie Bush for Sunday?

"Williams: Johnson and Bush are both expected to play Sunday, though Bush did sit out practice on Wednesday. I expect to see more and more Theo Riddick as the season progresses. He can make the quick cuts like Bush, and is a better receiver out of the backfield."

HW: The Cardinals are familiar with Golden Tate from his days with the Seahawks.  How is he fitting in playing alongside Calvin Johnson?

"Williams:  Finally, Detroit has found a true No. 2 to compliment CJ. Actually, you could consider him a No. 1 receiver on most teams. Tate currently ranks among the best in the league and has 900 yards receiving through 9 games. He stepped up big during Johnson’s hiatus, when his team needed him most."

HW: The Detroit Lions drafted Eric Ebron in this years NFL draft.  How has Ebron effected the offense and will be a factor against the Cardinals?

"Williams:  Ebron is a full participant in practice this week, which is a good indication that he will play Sunday. Will he be a factor? Hopefully. The Detroit Lions have barely begun to scratch the surface with Ebron. No need to panic Detroit."
