Arizona Wildcats V Washinton Huskies Kickoff Preview
By Tony Fischer
The Arizona Wildcats host the Washington Huskies on Saturday at Arizona Stadium. The Wildcats rebounded nicely last week against Colorado following a disappointing loss to UCLA that knocked them out of the College Football Playoff race.
As disappointing as the loss to UCLA was the Arizona Wildcats still have quite a bit to play for. Arizona is just 1 game back in the PAC-12 South and have the opportunity to win it by winning the rest of their games. That last game of the season is against the hated Sun Devils and a win by the Wildcats could earn them a spot in the PAC 12 championship game.
First they have to get by the Huskies who are out of the running for a conference championship but are playing for the post season. There are no easy wins in the PAC 12 that is considered by some to be the best conference this side of the SEC.
"“Ultimately you’re judged by wins and losses — whether that’s fair or unfair,” said Rodriguez, who inherited a team that went 4-8 in 2011. “But I can tell you I saw a turnaround with this program from Day 1 of our first spring practice (in 2012).”“This is where there’s so much still at stake, particularly in our conference,” Rodriguez said. “Every game you win now you kind of climb up the bowl ladder. Certainly we’re in a spot, as are a couple of other teams in the Pac-12 South, that it’s all going to be settled here in the next few weeks.”"
The Arizona Wildcats will try to grab the next rung of the PAC 12 ladder by beating the Huskies.
