Arizona Cardinals Keep It Rolling Against Detroit Lions
By Cody Fincher
The Arizona Cardinals keep it rolling as they get their 9th win of the year against the Detroit Lions 14-6. At 9-1, the Cardinals push their lead on the Seattle Seahawks to three games as Seattle lost to Kansas City 24-20.
In the first game since losing Carson Palmer for the year, backup quarterback Drew Stanton played well. Stanton threw for 306 yards (a career high), two touchdowns, and two interceptions. Stanton’s two interceptions was the first time this year a Cardinals’ quarterback had thrown multiple interceptions. Despite those two poor decisions, Stanton was able to make enough plays to get the job done for Arizona.

After struggling in recent games, Michael Floyd was able to haul in two touchdown catches which were Floyd’s only two catches on the day. It was nice to see Floyd get back in the end zone in this one. Let’s hope that trend can continue.
Once again the Arizona Cardinals defense played tremendously, shutting down the Lions’ offense. They were able to hold Matthew Stafford to only 183 yards passing and were able to pick him off once. Joique Bell, who started at running back in place of the injured Reggie Bush, was able to rush for 85 yards but never found the end zone. Calvin Johnson was limited to just five catches and 59 yards after coming off 113 receiving yards and a touchdown against Miami last week. The only points the Lions scored were two field goals by Matt Prater, one of which hit the goal post and luckily went through.
The Arizona Cardinals will travel to Seattle next week to take on the Seahawks. It will be the first time these division-rivals square off with each other this season. The run-defense of Arizona will definitely have a tough matchup with Marshawn Lynch. The Cardinals are going to have their hands full with Lynch, especially when Seattle is in the red zone. Kickoff is at 2:05 p.m. from CenturyLink Field.
