The Arizona Cardinals are “Legit”
The Arizona Cardinals for the first time since 1948 sit at a record of 9-1. Most importantly, they contain a three game lead in the NFC West, and also lead the NFC by two games.
In another thrilling win, the Cardinals defeated the 7-2 Detroit Lions 14-6. With all the controversy about the Cardinals not being able to succeed with Drew Stanton leading the pack, they once again find away to win despite injury battle.
Stanton’s two first-quarter touchdown passes to Michael Floyd were enough to defeat the Lions thanks to the Arizona Cardinal defense. Defense didn’t even allow a Lions touchdown. In fact, the Lions only entered the red zone once in the entire game.
However, it’s almost as if the Cardinals have one foot through the door and one foot out. They’re finally starting to get the NFL world to take them serious. On the other hand, it’s been yet another week that the Patriots get ranked ahead of the Cardinals in power rankings despite Arizona’s NFL best record. While the rankings don’t really matter, it still comes to show that there will always be another team taken more serious than the Cardinals.
The popular Skip Bayless stated, ” The New England Patriots one again prove they’re the NFL’s best team.” With the Patriots being number one in rankings for yet another week, Skip Bayless obviously isn’t the only one who agrees with that statement. The Patriots are a phenomenal team, no doubt about that. However, the Cardinals having Drew Stanton lead their team over a tough victory over the Detroit Lions to maintain the best record of the NFL deserves a lot more credit over a team that has a quarterback such a Tom Brady leading their team.
As of now, the playoff picture looks like:
The Cardinals remaining schedule consists of:
@ Seattle Seahawks ( Sun.,Nov. 23)
@ Atlanta Falcons (Sun., Nov. 30)
vs. Kansas City Chiefs (Sun., Dec. 7)
@ St. Louis Rams (Thur., Dec. 11)
vs. Seattle Seahawks (Sun.,Dec. 21)
@ San Francisco 49ers. (Sun., Dec. 28)
The most important games are going to be the divisional games, with two games against Seattle, one being this coming weekend, and one more against the Rams and the 49ers.
The Cardinals look to build their lead in the NFC West to four games and improve to 10-1 as they take on the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle on Sunday. Kickoff is at 2:05 M.S.T and was voted as “America’s game of the week”.
