The Meltdown:

Arizona Cardinals Edition

The Arizona Cardinals go into this weeks matchup with the Seattle Seahawks as a road dog.  You would think alone would be enough to put a chip on the Card’s shoulder but head Coach Bruce Arians is fine with the designation.  In fact he is so confident in his team that he thought they would have been 10-0 at the point in the season.

The Cardinals have proven they know how to win but not all pundits are convinces.  Some think that having a back-up quarterback at the helm will eventually come back to haunt the Cardinals. There is a famous example of back-up leading his team to the promised land.  Earl Morrall of the 1972 Dolphins did it after taking over the starting roll mid-season.  We all know what happened next.

From ESPN Blogs: Arizona Cardinals OK With Undercog Status

"Even though they’re an NFL-best 9-1 and in control of the NFC West and the conference, the Arizona Cardinals are heading to Seattle for Sunday’s game as an underdog. And that’s just fine with Cardinals coach Bruce Arians."

From Arizona Sports: Bruce Arians Thought They Would Be 10-0

"The Arizona Cardinals were one of the NFL’s best teams over the last nine weeks of the 2013 season, going 7-2 down the stretch. That finish wasn’t good enough to propel Arizona to the playoffs, as the Cardinals became one of the rare 10-win teams to have to watch the postseason on television."

From AZCentral.com: Offensive Line Protecting The Nest

"But let’s not forget about the Cardinals’ offensive line. They held the Lions without a sack, the first time that’s happened to Detroit all season. It’s the third time this year the Cardinals haven’t allowed a single sack — the first time that’s happened since 2009."

From USA Today: Cardinals Prove They Have The Winning Formula

"Maybe you thought Bruce Arians was wearing his Kangol hat a bit sideways when he declared last week that even with Carson Palmer’s season finished by a torn ACL, the Arizona Cardinals can still win the Super Bowl with Drew Stanton. Shoot, after helping the Cardinals keep the NFL’s best record (9-1) with a 14-6 victory against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, even Stanton himself wasn’t ready to publicly walk out on that limb."
