Anu Solomon Injury Concern For The Arizona Wildcats
By Tony Fischer
In a season full of big games the Arizona Wildcats are about to play one of their biggest yet. On Friday the Wildcats will host rival Arizona State in a match-up up that will not only determine bragging rights but also could affect bowl bids.
When preparing for a game like this a coach would like to have all of his players healthy and available. such is not the case for Rich Rodriguez who has to develop his game plan under the specter of injury to starting quarterback Anu Solomon.
Solomon had been battling an ankle injury over the last couple of weeks but was removed after halftime of the Wildcats win over Utah when it was determined the injury was too much for the freshmen to handle.
Now with a short week ahead of them, it is questionable whether Solomon will be available to start against the Sun Devils.
"He gutted it out the first half, but at halftime it was determined he couldn’t go so we put Jesse in. We’ll see how he responds this week; it’s a short week, that’s the only problem, with a short week playing on Friday, but we’ll see what happens.”"
If Solomon is unable to go senior Jesse Scroggins will be under center for the Arizona Wildcats. Scroggins saw his first real action last week against Utah when he accounted for 80 total yards and a lost fumble.
Despite being a senior, Scroggins would be a pretty sizable downgrade from Anu Solomon. If Solomon is able to play he will even if he is less than 100%.
