The Arizona Cardinals head to Atlanta to play the Falcons this sunday. At this point, you could really consider the Falcons as the underdogs in this game, considering the fact the Cards are 9-2 and #1 in the NFC. However, this could easily be a trap game for the Cards. Here is a couple reasons why.
The Falcons have one of the best passing attacks in the league:
When you think of two top receivers on the same team that are top notch, the Falcons are up in the top of that list. The Falcons are ranked 7th in passing yards per game, while the Cards are ranked 25th against the pass. They might have the most talented secondary in the NFL but this team has been burned before and they have been multiple times. They will also face Matt Ryan who when he has protection can light up any defense.
The Cardinals don’t play well away from Az:
4 of the 8 games last year the Cards played outside of Arizona, they lost, and this year, there only two losses have been on the road as well. They don’t get as any yards as they usually do at home and they aren’t the same ballhawking team they usually are on the road than they are at home.
The Cardinals may look over this game:
Now this is true speculation. The Cards got a good Chiefs team next week to deal with and they might not think very highly of the Falcons as they would the Chiefs or the Seahawks. The Falcons could use this to their advantage and get the early pounce on the Cards and use that momentum to lead them to the NFC south crown. Do I believe the Cards are gonna let that happen, not after what happen to them against Seattle.
Like I said in my last sentence, the Cards should be ready for this game and not look over it but this does have the making for a good trap game. However, I got the Cards winning 31-17.
