5/17/2014 – Paul Goldschmidt Has Monster Game Against The Dodgers
Before getting injured in early August, Paul Goldschmidt was on his way to a stellar season in the desert. On May 17, Goldy led the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 18-7 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers by smacking two home runs and two doubles while driving in six RBI.
The impressive display of power was part of a 4-for-5 performance that also included a walk.
This was an important win for the D-Backs as it improved their record in May to 8-6 after a putrid April when the club managed only nine wins. Goldy’s performance coupled with the hiring of Tony LaRussa gave the Diamondback’s fans hope, even if just for a moment, that 2014 might turn around. Unfortunately, fate had other plans for the team.
