Brandon Webb did an admirable job taking over the ace role of the staff after Johnson was traded to the New York Yankees following the 2004 season.  Webb was poised for a great career, but suffered a career ending injury only six years into his MLB tour.

In his short time, he was incredibly good for the  Arizona Diamondbacks. In 2006, Webb took home a CY Young award and the following season, he pitched 42 consecutive scoreless innings.

The success continued the following year as Webb went 22-7, but was edged out by Tim Lincecum for the 2008 CY Young award. His 3.27 ERA ranks third all time within the organization.  He also has 87 wins which ranks second all time for the D-Backs.
