Arizona State earned their first road win of the year Thursday night after beating the Golden bears 79-44 in Berkeley, California. The 35 point beat down was the second largest Pac-12 road win in school history.

The Sun Devils took an early lead and never looked back. Going into the half Arizona State led 34-13 and seemed to be in control from the beginning.  They were helped out by a scoring drought from the Bears that lasted over 13 minutes.

Teamwork was the big key to the game. Arizona State moved well without the basketball and out rebounded Cal. Defensively the Sun devils forced 19 turnovers leading to easy baskets on the offensive end. They shot 47% from behind the arc and 65% from the free throw line despite shaky free throw shooting early on.

Bo Barnes led the scoring for the sun devils with the game high of 17 points. Working the ball down low to Eric Jacobson, (along with forcing turnovers) was key to the early success for the Sun Devils.

The contribution from the Sun devils bench provided hope for the future. Along with the big night from Barnes the Sun Devils got a boost from Freshman Kodi Justice with 16 points of his own.

This is Just the second win in Pac-12 play for the Sun Devils. On that note, they will now be taking their two game win streak to Stanford on Saturday. Stanford is coming off a loss to Arizona.
