The Pelicans are technically still in the playoff hunt but the could decide to gracefully bow out this weekend. If they do decide to focus on next season the Pelicans could be willing to give up some of their prices for one that can help them make a run next season.
Ajinca has been getting a little playing time with the injury to Anthony Davis and is having success. He is suspect on defense but can score the rock and that’s just what the Suns are looking for.
For the Pelicans part they get a back-up point guard, a servicable center, an expiring deal and another draft pick to help them build for the future. Granted this trade is a little far-fetched but it would be good for the Suns if you can stand Jimmer Fredette for 29 games.
