NBA Trade Rumors: Phoenix Suns Will Take First Round Pick For Goran Dragic

Apparently the Phoenix Suns are serious about dealing Goran Dragic before the trade deadline and the price is high.  Past rumors have surfaced that Dragic may be dealt to help fill the Suns need in the front court. But the latest out of the Minnesota media is the Suns are asking for a first round pick for the dynamic point guard.

It might be easier just to deal Dragic for a pick rather than try and fit his $7.5 million salary into a trade scenario that could involve multiple players.

Of course the best case scenario would have Dragic being dealt to an Eastern Conference team to minimize any damage he may do to the Suns in the playoffs.  But the number of teams willing to give up a draft pick for a rental player are limited.  If the Suns are serious about dealing Dragic they have to consider all offers even if it comes from a potential playoff opponent.

Teams who may be willing to spend a first round pick with the space to accommodate Goran Dragic’s contract include: The Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers, Memphis Grizzlies, Minnesota Timberwolves, Boston Celtics and Orlando Magic.
