Arizona State earned a quality win beating UCLA 68-66 in Tempe on Wednesday night. In a back and forth game there was one constant, the effort and output from Savon Goodman.

At halftime the focus was on James Harden, who had his jersey retired at halftime by the Sun Devils. Savon Goodman owned the actual game. Goodman had a perfect 8-for-8 from the field and seemed to be everywhere on the court to the tune of 20 points and 12 rebounds.

Despite the big game from Goodman the Sun Devils had 15 turnovers and had 6 shots blocked. The Sun Devils seemed passive at times at both ends of the floor, hesitating to shoot and giving up open layups.

Arizona State out-rebounded UCLA 46-28, got to the free throw line more, but unfortunately the Sun Devils shot just 65% from the stripe. Shaquielle McKissic chimed in with 14 points and freshman Tra Holder had 13 points.

The Bruins also had their fair share of mistakes having two of their starters foul out with time running out. Still they had one more chance to win the game as time expired.

However, on a night with one of Arizona’s State greatest players in the house, the Sun Devils found a way to pull out a victory. With the game on the line Isaac Hamilton missed a three pointer as time expired to give the Sun Devils their second straight victory.

The Sun Devils will be welcoming the USC Trojans on Sunday night. They will be looking to gain some momentum heading into the PAC-12 tournament.
