NBA: Where to Watch Phoenix Suns v. Mavericks
The Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks link-up on Sunday night in a Western Conference showdown that will be pivotal for Phoenix as the Suns need a victory to keep their playoff hopes alive.
While Phoenix is scrapping away at making the playoffs, Dallas is settled into the seventh playoff spot entering play on Sunday.
The Mavericks are 12.5 games behind the first place Golden State Warriors, but are just one game behind the fourth place Portland Trailblazers. The Trailblazers, Clippers, Spurs, and Mavericks are all separated by one game in the standings with one team receiving home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. This is important to Dallas (44-26) who is just 20-14 on the road and has struggled as of late against good teams on the road.

Dallas’ last road victory against a team over the .500 mark was on January 19 against the Memphis Grizzlies. Since then the Mavericks have gone 4-7 on the road, but their victories where against the Heat, Magic, Kings, and Lakers.
The Mavericks enter this game following a 3-2 homestand that included a loss to Memphis to close out the stretch in Dallas.
Phoenix (37-33) must take advantage of Dallas’ recent road woes to propel them up in the standings. The Suns enter Sunday 2.5 games behind the Oklahoma City Thunder for the eighth and final playoff spot and 0.5 games behind the New Orleans Pelicans for ninth place in the Western Conference.
The Suns have owned this season series thus far with a 118-106 victory in Dallas back in early December and a 124-115 victory in late December. Since then, the Suns have gone through wholesale roster changes and boast a new back-court now with Brandon Knight in place of Goran Dragic and Isaiah Thomas.
Phoenix is riding high into the game as they went off against the Houston Rockets last night in a 117-102 victory on the road. Eric Bledsoe posted a career-high 34 points in the contest to lead the purple and orange to victory.
A heavily offensive game is expected as Dallas averages the third most points in the league with 104.8 and Phoenix sits in fourth place with 104.3 points per game.
