Suns Look to Bounce Back Against Warriors

The Phoenix Suns are spiraling further and further away from a playoff spot and their chances of rebounding from their four game losing streak do not get much better as they will take on the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night.

The Warriors (61-13) are the league’s best team and are currently riding a 10-game winning streak. The Warriors are also 15-1 in their last 16 games with the one loss being to the hands of the Denver Nuggets when coach Steve Kerr rested Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Bogut, and Andre Iguodala.

After winning four straight games to bring Phoenix back into the potential playoff picture the Suns have gone on to lose four consecutive. According to AZ Central, it has been the first time in two seasons that the Suns have failed to reach triple-digit points in five consecutive games.

Phoenix now sits four games behind Oklahoma City with seven games left. To make matters worse, Oklahoma City even holds the tiebreaker over the Suns after winning the season series 3-1.

The best case scenario for Phoenix to make the playoffs is for themselves to win the remaining games on the schedule, have New Orleans (currently behind the Thunder by 1.5 games) to overtake the eighth seed, and to then tie the Pelicans in the standings.

If Phoenix wins the rest of their games, which includes a road game against New Orleans on April 10 to decide who owns the tie breaker, they have a shot. A very, very small shot.

Phoenix will be without Alex Len, who underwent nose surgery after breaking it against Portland, and Brandon Knight (ankle).
