Josh Collmenter gets 14+ wins on the season
When Collmenter was named the Diamondbacks opening day starter, manager Chip Hale must have been in desperate need for a front rotation guy. Collmenter has had ups and downs in the starting rotation in his past couple years with Arizona.
When he first came up, he did great, but once teams figured out how to deal with his funky approach to the plate, he became more hittable. Colly still managed to have a very solid season last year, posting career highs in wins and strikeouts.
Collmenter is not a true ace, but you know what you are going to get out of him every fifth day. You can’t say that about most of the guys in this rotation.
