The Arizona Diamondbacks lost on Opening Day against the San Francisco Giants 5-4 and will look to bounce back and take the next two games of the three-game series.

San Francisco held on to their lead late against Arizona on Monday. The defending World Series champions took a 5-1 lead into the bottom of the eighth inning, but Jake Lamb delivered a bases-clearing three-RBI double to cut the lead to 5-4.

Jeremy Affeldt came on to pitch in relief and shut the door on the Diamondbacks in the eighth before handing it over to Santiago Casilla in the ninth. Casilla would set down the Arizona hitters in order, striking out Paul Goldschmidt on a 3-2 pitch to end the ball game.
