Bumgarner started on Opening Day against the Diamondbacks and pitched seven innings and only gave up one run for his first victory of the year. His second start, against the Padres, didn’t go quite as well however. Bumgarner gave up 10 hits and five runs in three innings, his shortest start of his career, as he picked up his first loss.

The southpaw has a 7-4 record against the Diamondbacks in his career with a 2.61 ERA. The current Diamondbacks’ hitters hold a .269/.315/.450 slash-line against Bumgarner. Of all the Diamondbacks hitters, Jordan Pacheco has the best numbers against the 2014 World Series MVP with a .370 average, one home run, and six RBIs in 27 at-bats.
