NHL Lottery Simulator
At 4:30 p.m. MST the NHL Lottery will take place to set the order for the 2015 NHL Draft. I don’t have patience to wait until that time, so I decided to take it into my own hands to use the NHL Lottery simulation to conduct my own lottery.
I ran the simulator 100 times and the Arizona Coyotes won the simulation the second most times, behind the Buffalo Sabres. Check out the rest of the simulation below…
The Sabres lead the field with 20 percent odds of landing the number one pick with the Coyotes just behind them with 13.5 percent odds.
The Edmonton Oilers, who finished fourth in my simulation, have the third best odds with an 11.5 percent chance. Toronto, who also slipped down in my simulation to fifth, has the fourth best odds in real life with a 9.5 percent chance. Carolina rounds out the top-five teams’ odds with an 8.5 percent chance.
Arizona would be set-up extremely well for the future if they were to luck into the number one pick, who will most likely, about 99.99999 percent chance, be Connor McDavid. McDavid finished with 120 points in 47 games for the Erie Otters this year.
If Arizona stands put at the number two, they will most likely land Jack Eichel from Boston University. Both Eichel and McDavid are classified as “generational players” and the organization can do no wrong with either of the two youngsters.
Be sure to tune in to the NHL Lottery tonight. We, here at Heat Waved, will provide more NHL Draft previews in the coming weeks as well.
