After a rocky 2014 campaign in which he went 5-12 with a 4.55 ERA, Martinez has righted the ship in a major way through his first two starts of 2015.

Martinez shut down the Oakland Athletics with seven shutout innings in his season debut. The Athletics scratched across four hits and had two walks through Martinez’s quality start.

The righty then duplicated his first start by going another seven innings of shutout ball against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. This time he allowed five hits and walked three batters, but left the game after throwing 99 pitches.

Martinez will start the game for the Rangers on Tuesday against the Diamondbacks.
