The Wildcats wrapped up the five-game series with the Sun Devils with a bang. They jumped all over the Sun Devil pitching staff to beat Arizona State 17-6 at home at Hi Corbett Field.

The Sun Devils still won the 2015 series taking three out of five games from Arizona. Things looked promising for the Sun Devils out of the gate. The Sun Devils scored two runs in the top of the first inning off of starter Cody Hamlin.

Hamlin lasted only one inning; Facing just six batters. He gave up two runs on three hits and struck out one. But with a 2-0 lead, Sun Devil starter Ryan Hingst couldn’t get out of the bottom of the first.

Hingst faced six batter and gave up five runs on five hits, one of those was a home run, and walked a batter. He only lasted 1/3 of the inning.

Tracy Smith would turn it over to left-hander Eli Lingos. But Lingos was unable to cool down the red-hot Wildcats either. Lingos would allow four more runs to score over the next 2 1/3 innings.

The Wildcats led the Sun Devils 9-4 after the first three frames. ASU would try to chip away at the Wildcat lead, but Arizona put up another run in the fourth, four more in the fifth and two more in the sixth.
