  • Following the series against the Dodgers, the Diamondbacks played just two of three scheduled games against the Rockies due to a pair of rainouts. Arizona wound up taking both games of the doubleheader on Wednesday against the Rockies with 13-7 and 5-1 victories.

Entering the series against the Padres, Arizona currently sits in fourth place in the National League West with a 12-14 record. San Diego is 15-14, good for second place in the National League West behind the Los Angeles Dodgers.

San Diego just wrapped up a three-game series against the San Francisco Giants. After getting shutout in the first two games of the series, San Diego bounced back with a 9-1 victory in the series-finale.

The offseason acquisitions for the Padres on the offensive side of the ball have worked out beautifully for them thus far. San Diego currently sits atop the National League in runs, hits, and RBIs.

The Diamondbacks have a 4-7 home record entering this series, while the Padres enter with a 6-7 road record during the young 2015 season.
