Dbacks Suffer Big Loss, Look to Redeem Themselves
The Arizona Diamondbacks lost by the largest margin this season so far, losing 11-1 to the Washington Nationals at home on Monday.
The Nationals didn’t waste any time as they scored 10 runs through the first two innings, chasing Josh Collmenter out of the game after just 1 1/3 innings.

In fact, Nationals’ lead-off hitter Denard Span began the game with a home run to right-center field.
From there, it was all downhill for the Dbacks as Ryan Zimmerman later hit a three-run home run later in the inning and the Dbacks finished the first inning already down 4-0.
The second inning followed up with six more runs added to the Nationals lead as Denard Span, Jayson Werth, Bryce Harper, and Wilson Ramos all contributed RBIs to give the Nationals a 10-0 lead going into the bottom half of the second.
The Nationals tacked on one more run in the top of the fifth off of Yunel Escobar’s RBI single which then gave them a staggering 11-0 lead.
Yunel Escobar dominated as he went on to have a five-hit game, his second of the season already.
The Dbacks had just six hits, and their only run came in the bottom of the sixth off a Jordan Pacheco home run to left field.
The homecoming for Max Scherzer was nothing short of a success as he went seven innings allowing just five hits, and one run. He walked one and struck out six on 94 pitches.
On a brighter note, the Dbacks held the red-hot Bryce Harper to just 1 RBI and no home run after he’s hit six homeruns in his last five games.
The Dbacks have two games left to redeem themselves after yesterday’s bad outing.
