When Chip Hale announced the Diamondbacks starting rotation, Chase Anderson sat fifth on the depth chart. If Hale was to redo that decision, Anderson could very well now qualify as their ace and hey maybe even an All-Star. Ever since a 5.1 inning, five-run, stutter against the offensively savvy Rockies in the last week of April, Anderson has allowed only three runs through 26.1 innings of work. And among qualifying starters, he sits ninth in all of the National League with a 2.54 ERA. Meaning he’s also qualified for the #EnFuego status. He’ll get the starting nod today and will be facing a potent Cardinals offense for the first time in his young career.
