The dark horse in this draft is Emmanuel Mudiay, but rumor has it that the 76ers really like what he brings to the table. Last year ESPN had him as the 4th best high school basketball player in the country. But instead of going to play for Larry Brown at SMU, Mudiay decided to take his talents overseas and play professionally in China for a year.
Mudiay’s biggest talent is probably his athleticism. He is extremely quick in the open floor and has great potential as a scorer. His downside, he is not that much of a shooter. His game is getting to the rim and slashing not necessarily shooting the ball. But that was the same thing with Eric Bledsoe of the Phoenix Suns when he first came into the league. Now he is leading the Suns in PPG and is not a bad shooter from deep. Mudiay can definitely learn a lot from guys like Bledsoe and become a much better shooter in today’s NBA game.
