Nelson currently tops the Brewers’ list of best ERA thus far this season, which is significant considering Milwaukee is ranked 28th in team ERA in the league.

Nelson comes into the series with a 3.67 ERA. He is 2-5 this season after nine starts.

In his last outing against the Braves, he was slapped with the loss after going 5 2/3 innings giving up two runs on five hits.

His last win came against the Detroit Tigers back on May 19. Comparing his last two starts, its almost night and day. In the Tigers game, Nelson dominated the American League hitters, giving up just one run in eight innings of work.

So, we know he is capable of shutting hitters down, especially against teams who rarely face him.

We’ll see how the Diamondback hitters fair against Nelson, who has never pitched against Arizona.
