The NBA draft has always been full of surprises. From teams striking gold late in the draft, to what our subject is today, the worst picks in the NBA draft.

The Phoenix Suns have had a lot of success in the draft, but there have been a couple of hiccups along the road.

Alex Len (Maryland): 2013 1st round, 5th overall

This pick still crosses my mind nearly every time I look at the class of 2013. The Phoenix Suns took Alex Len over guys like Nerlens Noel, Ben McLemore, Trey Burke, and the rookie of the year, Michael Carter-Williams.

Now last year Alex Len looked really promising, but I still can’t get over the fact that he can’t stay healthy for a full season. And for a guy who was thought of to have potential as an inside scorer, he has not developed his post game like most scouts thought he would. His defense has got a lot better since his rookie season, but you have to think what this Phoenix Suns team would’ve looked like had they taken Noel, or McLemore at 5. It may be early to consider Len a bust considering the 2015-16 season will be his 3rd, but he’ll need to improve vastly in order to be considered a good selection.
