Is there a chance that Carson Palmer could be in the early running for Comeback Player of the Year? Carson Palmer is coming off of his second major knee injury in his professional career. Carson Palmer is also coming into his third year with an offense that he’s been able to put up formidable numbers with.

Palmer is coming into a team that, without him, made the playoffs and was atop the NFC until the last few weeks of the regular season. They ranked close to the top in all of the Defensive categories.

The Cardinals used free agency and the draft to help protect Palmer. They added Free agent guard Mike Iupati and Drafted D.J. Humphries out of Florida in the first round.

Carson Palmer threw for over 4,000 yards in his first year with the Cardinals. Threw for 24 touchdowns and 22 interceptions. Palmer was looking to shatter those numbers before his knee injury. In just six games played, Palmer threw 11 touchdowns to only three interceptions.

Knee injuries are tough to come back from the first time. But Palmer was a man who was left for dead in Cincinnati, Oakland, and is ready to thrive once again in Arizona. If Palmer can put up numbers similar to the ones he had in his first year with the Cardinals he should have a good chance at the comeback player of the year. Not just that but he could have the Cardinals back towards the top of the NFC.
