Phoenix Mercury to Sell a Nacho Fanny Pack
The defending WNBA champion Phoenix Mercury kick off the 2015 season on Friday, June 5 against the San Antonio Stars at U.S. Airways Center, but will be without Brittney Griner who was suspended for the first seven games of the season following an altercation with her fiancé.
U.S. Airways will have a nice substitute on hand on Opening Night, as well as the rest of the season, at the concession stand however with the introduction of the Nacho Fanny Pack.
Yes. You heard me correctly. A Nacho Fanny Pack.
The Nacho Fanny Pack will go for a price of $10 and of course you can keep the fanny pack after eating your delectable nacho snack. In the Mercury’s media release they state that it is the “easiest way for fans to chip and dip.”
The Arizona ABC Sports affiliate also described some of the other snacks that will be available for the fans at Mercury games this year…
"Other treats include the Three-Time Grilled Cheese, a 16-inch sandwich featuring Cheddar, Jack and Swiss cheeses; Championship Fries, a mixture of traditional, curly and sweet potato fries in a cone, and two Mercury-themed donuts served up by Fractured Prune."
The food is one of the best parts of Arizona sports. The Diamondbacks brought in a bunch of new restaurants at Chase Field this year including Lolo’s, America’s Taco Shop, and also adding Food Truck Alley.
I don’t know about you, but I may make an effort to get out to U.S. Airways Center for the food this season. Oh yeah and the basketball game too, I suppose.
But, the food. Definitely an A+ effort by the Mercury this year.
