Diamondbacks’ Bradley Placed on Disabled List
By Kody Acevedo
The Arizona Diamondbacks announced Thursday morning that they have placed right-handed pitcher Archie Bradley on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder tendinitis.
The D-backs also announced that they have recalled left-hander Robbie Ray from Triple-A Reno. Ray will get start tonight in the opener against the New York Mets.
Jeremy Hellickson was originally slated to get the start Thursday in the opener against the Mets. Bradley was scheduled to throw Saturday against Bartolo Colon.
By inserting Ray into the rotation tonight to face the Mets’ Matt Harvey, the rest of the D-backs’ starters will each get an extra day of rest.
As for Bradley, this will be his second trip to the DL this season. In a game against the Colorado Rockies on April 28, Bradley was stuck in the face by a line drive off the bat of Carlos Gonzalez.
Since his return, Bradley has struggled mightily on the mound. He is 0-3 with a 7.42 ERA in his last four starts.
