More from Heat Waved

Both of these teams have struggled lately. The Diamondbacks are on a four game losing streak, and are 4-6 in their last ten games. The Giants are coming off a series win against the Mets, but are also 4-6 in their last ten.

As division opponents the Diamondbacks and Giants have faced each other seven times so far this season, with the Diamondbacks winning four of the seven games. With both teams playing each other so often, it will be a series that features some of the best players in the National League.

The pitchers in this series will be key, as the Diamondbacks try and continue to perform well against the Giants, or for the Giants to get back to their winning ways.

Friday:

D-Backs vs Giants; 7:15 PM

Chase Anderson (1-1) vs Madison Bumgarner (7-2)

Chase Anderson has pitched very well this season, receiving no decisions in most of the games he has pitched. Anderson has a 3.12 ERA this season, but his only victory came in a game against the Miami Marlins on May 20th. Anderson will try and get his second victory on Friday in San Francisco.

Madison Bumgarner is coming off an average performance where he got his seventh victory, giving up five runs on six hits. Bumgarner has a 3.36 ERA, and has dominated opponents so far this season. He will try and get back to his dominating ways against the Diamondbacks.

Saturday:

D-Backs vs Giants; 4:15 PM

Josh Collmenter (3-6) vs Ryan Vogelsong (4-4)

Josh Collmenter has struggled, not got a win in six straight starts, and has a 5.24 ERA on the season. Collmenter is a former reliever that has become a starter for the Diamondbacks, but has not been doing well this season. Collmenter gave up four home runs in his last start against the Mets, and hopes to get back to winning in San Francisco.

Ryan Vogelsong had a great month of May, but his performance has not been as good in June. Vogelsong has a 4.52 ERA, but has allowed eight runs in 12 1/3 innings in June. Like Collmenter, Vogelsong will try and improve in this series.

Sunday:

D-Backs vs Giants; 1:05 PM

Rubby De La Rosa (4-3) vs Chris Heston (6-4)

Rubby De La Rosa has had a great year, but in his last start he was trampled by eight earned runs. He allowed two, three run home runs in his last start against the Dodgers. On the season De La Rosa has an 5.84 ERA. De La Rosa will look to get back in the win column against the Giants.

Chris Heston is coming off a no-hitter against the Mets, he absolutley dominated walking only one batter and striking out 11. He has a 3.77 ERA on the season, and will try to continue winning against the Diamondbacks.

With the Giants great pitching and the Diamondbacks offense, this will be a great series to watch.
