For the first time in three years, the Arizona Diamondbacks will take on the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in a four-game interleague series beginning on Monday night.

The series will start in Anaheim where the Angels will play host to the visiting D-backs who are looking for their fourth win in a row.

After things wrap up in Anaheim, the series will shift to Phoenix where the D-backs will host the Angels at Chase Field Wednesday and Thursday.

This is the first time these two teams have faced each other since 2012 when the Angels took two out of three games at Angel Stadium.

Monday night’s opener marks just the 22nd time the Angels and D-backs have faced each other. Los Angeles leads the all-time series 12-9.

The D-backs enter the series coming off a 3-3 road trip. They were swept by the Los Angels Dodgers a week ago at Dodger Stadium, then went up to San Francisco and swept the Giants after an off day Thursday.

They are 30-32 overall and sit in fourth place in the NL West, 6 1/2 games behind the Dodgers.

The Angels aren’t fairing much better. They are just one game over .500 with an overall record of 32-31. However, they sit just 3 1/2 games out of first behind the first place Houston Astros.

The D-backs’ offense is going to be the key to their success during this series. The Angels have been struggling to score runs all season long.

In fact, the D-backs have scored a total of 283 runs this season, which is the fourth highest total in the Majors.

The Angels have scored only 248.

In addition, Los Angeles is 25th in the league with a team average of .242. Compared to Arizona’s team average of .263, which is good enough for 6th place.

But the Angels have pitching on their side.

With a staff led by Ace Jered Weaver, the Angels are ranked 12th with a team ERA of 3.80.

The D-backs, meanwhile, are sporting a team ERA of 4.24.

So with that, here’s the pitching match ups for this series:
