The Diamondbacks came into their inter-league series with the Los Angeles Angels on a four game winning streak and were looking to continue their solid play. The first two games of the series took place in Angel Stadium before the series shifted to Chase Field.
Despite splitting with the Angels, the Diamondbacks have won 5 of their last 7 games. Arizona has a crucial stretch coming up now with their next 16 games coming against divisional opponents (7 games vs. Rockies, 6 games vs. Padres and 3 games vs. Dodgers).
