Tomas has stepped up his game at the plate.
Not that he was doing poorly to start the year, but as of late he has hit safely in 24 of his last 27 starts and is sporting a .326 batting average. He also has hit three home runs and driven in 25 with an OPS of .802.
Tomas’ monthly average has never dropped below .300 and he is hitting above .300 both on the road and at Chase Field.
He is in the D-backs’ top 5 for best average, most home runs, RBIs and stolen bases. No doubt he will continue to produce good numbers for the D-backs in this series as well.
Originally brought up from Cuba to play third base, Tomas has found a home as the D-backs’ everyday right fielder. With as consistent numbers as Tomas has put up this season, the old saying holds true: If you can hit, they’ll find a place for you.
This has certainly been the case for Tomas.
