Can Ross do it again?
Last weekend in Arizona, Ross threw a complete game against the D-backs and the Padres went on the win the game 8-1. Ross lasted all 9 innings and gave up just one run on four hits. He also walked a batter and struck out 9.
Ross (4-7) picked up his fourth victory of the season and his second in the month of June. He owns a season ERA of 3.61 in 89 2/3 innings pitched.
This will be his third start of the season against the D-backs. In his first start against Arizona on May 9, he left with a no-decison after six innings of work.
The D-backs certainly have their work cut out for them in the opener Friday with Ross on the mound. He has not lost to the D-backs yet this season and leads the Padres in team ERA with his 3.61 average.
He also has the only complete game on the Padres staff so far this season.
Look for him to be effective against the D-backs hitters yet again because Arizona is still fresh on his mind, being that he dominated them in his last start just six days ago.
