Ahmed has also been a hot hitter recently for the D-backs.
He’s hitting only .245 this season, but over the last week he’s hitting .385/.407/.654. He’s 10-26 in that time with two home runs and four RBIs. He also has a stolen base and five runs scored.
On top of that, Ahmed has been a solid short stop for the D-backs. Ahmed is currently sporting a .976 fielding percentage this season. He’s only made 8 errors in 205 attempts.
Ahmed’s average has improved slowly over the course of the season. In April when the Rangers came to Phoenix, Ahmed was only hitting .136. But because of his recent surge at the plate, look for him to be someone who does some damage against a Rangers team that is looking for answers after being swept over the weekend.
