Anderson, who leads the D-backs with a 3.71 ERA, has faced the Mets once before this season.
Back on June 6, Anderson held the Mets to just one run on eight hits in 5 2/3 innings pitched. He left with a no-decision, but the D-backs went on to win the game 2-1.
Anderson has arguably been the Ace of the D-backs staff this season.
Even with Patrick Corbin’s return last Saturday, Anderson has been a dominant right-hander for the team. He provides depth, minimizing how often Chip Hale has to turn to the bullpen during his starts, and he keeps the offense in the game.
Look for him to continue that as he gets the start in the opener Friday at Citi Field.
