The Arizona Diamondbacks will continue their ten game home stand on Monday evening as they welcome in the Miami Marlins. Both teams enter the contest in fourth place in their respective divisions, and both are in dire need of a win.

The Marlins (38-54) have been an utter disappointment. Thought by many to be a dark horse for a playoff spot this season, the Fish have suffered a grueling amount of injuries without the depth needed to survive them. The team has vastly underperformed, a point driven home after the Marlins were swept by the Phillies over the weekend.

The Diamondbacks (42-48) are in a lull too. After being swept into the All-Star break by the New York Mets, the Snakes were swept coming out of the break by the San Francisco Giants. They now find themselves 9.5 games out of first place, their biggest deficit of the season. Many believed that Arizona could be a potential buyer at the deadline, but the team will need to kick it into gear if they truly want to contend.

Regardless of their recent performances, both teams feature exciting players that are well-worth the price of admission. Let’s take a look, shall we?
