After taking care of business the night before, the D-backs kept the ball rolling and again took a 1-0 lead over the Mariners in the top of the 1st courtesy of an RBI single from David Peralta.

Then in the 3rd, Peralta again delivered with an RBI double to left field. Goldschmidt came around to score to make it 2-0.

The Mariners would get a run back in the bottom of the 3rd when Zunino blasted a homer to left field to put Seattle on the board.

Ender Inciarte joined the parade with a solo home run of his own to make it 3-1 in the fifth. It was his third homer of the season.

Both teams would score in the sixth. The D-backs added three more in the top half with a couple of clutch hits off of Hisashi Iwakuma.

In the bottom half, Nelson Cruz homered and Brad Miller doubled to make it a 6-3 ball game. That’s as close the Mariners would get in this game.

The D-backs broke it open with two more runs in the top of the 8th and took an 8-3 lead into the bottom of the 9th.

Josh Collmenter came into pitch the bottom of the ninth and, after allowing Trumbo to score on a Miller RBI single, closed the door on this one. The D-backs won it 8-4, taking the series and winning their fourth game in-a-row.

Zack Godley, who made his MLB debut last week, picked up his second win of the season for Arizona after throwing six innings and giving up three runs on seven hits while walking three and striking out four.

Godley has now won two in a row.

The loss was handed to Iwakuma, who gave up six runs on 10 hits.
