Ray hasn’t won a game since July 7 when he pitched against another AL West team, the Texas Rangers.
Since then, Ray has two no-decision and a loss under his belt during the month of July. He has a 2.70 ERA, which is pretty respectable after 66 2/3 innings of work.
For the Astros, they’ll send Collin McHugh to the mound Sunday as he looks for his fourth straight win of the season. He is currently tied with Keuchel for the most wins overall this season on the Astros staff, but both men are tied for second for the most wins in all of baseball with 12.
McHugh picked up wins recently against Texas, Boston and the Angels of Anaheim. He hasn’t lost a game since July 10 against the Tampa Bay Rays.
In his last start against the Angels, McHugh was a little sloppy and allowed five runs on seven hits. He also walked four and stuck out three.
