De La Rosa will be on the bump to open the series Friday against Astros’ right-hander Scott Feldman.
But unlike Feldman, De La Rosa is looking for his third-straight win. He picked up W’s on outings against the Miami Marlins on July 20 and the Milwaukee Brewers on July 25.
In both of those starts combined, De La Rosa allowed just one run in 15 innings of work. He pitched seven innings against the Marlins and gave up a run on five hits.
But in his last start against the Brewers, he threw eight shutout innings of ball and only allowed four hits and two walks.
He was dominated in that start and has been on a roll of his own during the last two weeks. Because of that, he will have our full attention when he takes the mound Friday to try and preserve the D-backs five-game winning streak.
