As stated earlier, McHugh is tied for the second-most wins in the major with Hernandez and Keuchel with 12 so far in 2015.
They trail only Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander Gerrit Cole, who has 14 wins.
But despite that, McHugh has done an excellent job in the Astros rotation this season. Along with Keuchel, he is 12-5, but has a higher ERA of 4.43 in 132 innings of work.
Although unlike Keuchel, McHugh is currently riding a three-game winning streak of his own. He is looking to pick up his fourth consecutive victory Sunday after winning in his last three starts against the Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox and Angels of Anaheim.
In his last start against the Angels, McHugh was a little sloppy and allowed five runs on seven hits. He also walked four and stuck out three.
So even though he has been dominating as of late, he is still vulnerable. If the D-backs can get to him early, it will be up to the pitching staff to hold any sort of lead the offense is able to provide.
