Buchanan has been pretty inconsistent so far this season for the Phillies. After starting the season 0-5 after the first month of the season, Buchanan reemerged as a starter in July, going 2-0 in three starts.
He looked like he was headed down the winning path, but snapped his two-game winning streak after suffering the loss in his last start against the Dodgers.
In that outing, Buchanan allowed seven runs and 10 hits in just four innings of work.
Hellickson hasn’t won a game since July 26 in a start against the Milwaukee Brewers. Since then, he has gone 0-2 after dropping two games in a row to start the month of August.
In those losses, Hellickson allowed a combined 11 runs to score in just 8 innings of work.
He will be making his first career start against the Phillies.
