Game 3:

The third game of the series proved to be a high scoring affair including some action right away in the opening inning. Inciarte jacked a solo home run to start the fireworks. Paul Goldschmidt followed with a two run homer later in the inning to spark the Arizona offense to a 3-0 lead. Todd Frazier grabbed an RBI single in the bottom frame of the inning to set the tally at 3-1.

Arizona nabbed another run in the third inning. David Peralta grounded into a double play but it was enough to plate another run. Jay Bruce responded by hammering a two run double which was followed by a Boesch double to tie the game at 4.

Inciarte and Hill both provided a sacrifice fly (Inciarte in the 4th, Hill in the 5th) to give Arizona a 6-4 lead. Boesch added another RBI to his total with a ground out in the bottom of the fifth to score Votto.

The D-Backs got down to business in the 7th and 8th inning. Goldschmidt blasted his second two run homer of the game to give Arizona an 8-5 lead. In the eighth, Owings zipped an RBI single to center and would later score on a wild pitch to make the tally, 10-5.

Inciarte polished off the inning with a fielder’s choice that allowed Nick Ahmed to score. Cincinnati tried to mount a comeback with an RBI single by Ivan De Jesus and Tucker Barnhart in the ninth but it was not enough as the D-Backs prevailed once again.

Final score: D-Backs 11, Reds 7
