The Arizona Diamondbacks were swept by the St. Louis Cardinals in a four game series at Chase Field. This is the first St. Louis has swept the Diamondbacks in a four game series at Chase Field.

Arizona came into this series flying high after sweeping the Reds in a four game set. Arizona was on the cusp of breaking out and into the playoff race but a series against the team with the best record in baseball dashed those hopes quickly.
