Heat Waved: The Arizona Wildcats kick off the season ranked No. 22 in the AP Top-25 poll which is 6th among PAC-12 teams. Do you feel as if the Wildcats are not getting the respect the deserve after winning the PAC-12 South last year and returning most of their key players in 2015? Would you rank the Wildcats higher than any of the other PAC-12 teams?
Shereen Rayan:
When do the Wildcats ever get respect? Arizona wasn’t even ranked in the top 25 pre-season polls last season and look where they ended up, winning the Pac-12 South, beating their rivals the Sun Devils, and beating the number No. 2 team in the country, the Oregon Ducks, in their house!
Here are my rankings:
1. USC (As much as it pains me, but wondering how this Sark controversy will shake out with the team, fans and the coach)
2. Arizona (Didn’t want to be a homer, but I think they can get this far)
3. UCLA (Mora is establishing himself as a long term respected coach, he demands grit)
4. Oregon (The system, the system?)
5. Arizona State (Lot’s of returning players, I may be under rating the Sun Devils here)
