TBD vs. Jon Gray (Wednesday September 2)

The D-Backs have not announced who will start Wednesday’s game as they have been calling up and sending down many pitchers over the last week or so. This start will likely be someone from their Triple-A affiliate or possibly a spot start by a guy in the bullpen, like Josh Collmenter.

Gray’s last start didn’t go as planned as he only lasted 4 1/3 innings, gave up three runs on seven hits and struck out six batters. It is likely that Gray needed a lot of pitches to get through those few innings. In only five starts this season, Gray has not yet factored in any decision and has an ERA of 6.00.

The D-Backs will look to get back on track after being swept by the Cardinals in a four-game series and losing two out of three to the Oakland Athletics last week.
