Game 2 started off with a bang as Paul Goldschmidt connected on his 27th home run of the season in the top of the first inning. However, Colorado responded right away with a two-run bottom half to make it 2-1 and added another run in the third inning after another home run by Arenado, his 32nd home run of the year.

The D-Backs jumped back out on top in the 7th after a two-run double by Aaron Hill and a two-run home run by A.J. Pollock, which made it 5-3 Arizona. That was enough for the D-Backs to hold onto the victory.

Rubby De La Rosa had a strong start for the D-Backs. He pitched six innings, gave up three runs on three hits and struck out three, earning his 12th win of the season. The ERA is not where De La Rosa would like it to be, currently sitting at 4.46, but he has easily been the best pitcher for the D-Backs this past month or so.
