Tyson Ross had the D-Backs completely frustrated in this one. In his six innings pitched, Ross only gave up one run on four hits while striking out nine. But Ross would not see a victory come his way in this one.
Bud Norris came in from the Padres bullpen in the seventh inning and promptly gave up three runs without recording an out. Kevin Quakenbush then came in with the Padres up 3-2 and gave up a three-run homer to A.J. Pollock, which put the D-Backs up 5-3. By the end of the seventh, the D-Backs had scored five runs off of three different Padres relievers.
Jhoulys Chacin had a decent outing, where he went five innings, gave up two runs on four hits while striking out three.
The D-Backs were able to hold onto the lead and win this one by a score of 6-4.
